A Family Project for Kathy Little's Mother

Thanks to Mom and Ronda we were able to fix up a quilt for Kathy Little's Mother. Kathy's children made the quilt years ago and it showed years of love and comfort. We mended with the sewing machine, sewed hearts where the mending was outside of the binding and then bound the edges.
Kathy's mother was so touched that we would go to all this work for her . . . this was missionary work at its finest.
Thanks Mom & Ronda for your hard work to help me mend a grandmother's quilt!

HFPE Event with Liesa Card - I Dare You To Eat It

Liesa Card presented I Dare You To Eat It Designing Food Storage You Would Actually Want To Eat

How do you say Thank You to a woman that has a Strong Testimony, is taking her time to share what she has learned, and developed . . . what would ever be as wonderful? Since there really is not much . . . I create a few items that would be bring back memories when ever she uses the different items. Raspberry Caramel, Lemon Bread with Pecans (with white Lindt chocolate), Designer Wipes Holder, Designer Mouse Pad, Beaded Runner with clear Swarovski Crystal Beads, Swedish Cookies, Blow Pops, Lindt Chocolates, a Small Note Pad, and Dry Erase Board packed in a Leather Carrying Case.
I received the most beautiful Thank You Card from Liesa.

The Refreshments were Y Y Y One was from Liesa Card's book 'Fiesta Wheat and Bean Salad,' Kathy also made a rice dish, women from the ward brought cookies, and for a drink we served water with ice, lemon, or lime, or a combination of lemons and limes. The table decorations were glass containers with lemons, limes, oranges . . . (notice they matches the colors of table cloths) In addition, The glass containers were used previously for the announcing of the event in Relief Society.

Tanielle, Elle, Mom, Vedana, Aunt Eleanor, and three friends (Nanette, Cathleen, Jan) from work attended the event.
For those unable to attend I want you to know that we missed you and your company with us at an unforgettable night. The message was beautiful with the spirit witnessing to the sister the ability to begin, to continue to work at this great blessing, and that we will succeed. I with Liesa want to be able to join the Lord's team when the Bishop asks for donation from our Food Storage to help others in need. Liesa talked about the blessing of food storage and to realign our thought to the many places we can put the food storage so that we are a blessing to others in time of needs. So here is my natural man struggling with the understanding that it is time for me to let go of my room full of household storage to replace with food storage. How many glass vases, bowls, plates, and other useful items mean more than what the Lord is asking of us . . . that was my hard message for the night . . . so one of these days I am going to come to the part where DI or a yard market will redistribute my storage . . . oh how I pray for marriage so I wouldn't have to let them go . . . oh well . . . one piece at a time!
I spoke with Liesa for a short period of time, was so touched by her spirit, and testimony. There is a great strength and beauty that she shared with myself and others we are truly blessed to have this experience.
I wish I had more money to buy more books to touch so many more lives with these gospel principles!
Thank you for touching my life and giving me the feeling that I was you best friend . . . even for a moment! Now it is time for me to learn a new way of cooking . . . wonder what I would substitute to make caramels in a time of needY Y Y

I DARE YOU NOT TO EAT IT!

I DARE YOU TO EAT IT!

I Dare You To Eat It! Designing Food Storage You Would Actually Want To Eat . . Liesa Card author of the above book and website http://www.idareyoutoeatit.com/ has graciously accepted to speak at the
Murray Belview Ward Relief Society Enrichment Night
on Tuesday, 16 June 2009
at 6:30 pm
address - 6300 South 300 East
Murray Utah 84107
South West Corner across from Fashion Place Mall
Please come, bring your family, your neighbors, your friends, and join us that night!
I Dare You To Eat It presents a manageable method for food storage that can be used during a time of need but that can also help to SIMPLIFY EVERY DAY LIFE. Instead of buying, storing, and then tossing it, you can create a storage of food that makes your life easier by integrating it into regular meals. Liesa brings this message to you in an approachable way through discussion on food storage within the context of the gospel plan and provides information as well as resources including easy recipes that will help save you time and planning and preparing meals.
(In the jar are worms and dirt ((used to announce the event)) I have been giving the books to dear friends and relatives ((if you did not receive it was because I run out of book and money to buy more books)) Costco $9.98 )

My Friends from Texas Scottish Rite Hospital

Kristie Box and Jeff Purvis the night of the Gala

The next night we went out to dinner and then to Temple Square. We found a parking space right next to the conference center, walked through the plaza, into the Joseph Smith Building where Kristi and Jeff ended up learning to do some Family History. We went to the top floor to view the valley to the east and then the west. Afterward we walked past the Administration Building, Lion House, Beehive House, Eagle Gate, Church Office Building, Relief Society Building, Temple, and through Temple Square. They asked many questions and enjoyed the evening. Kristi told Jeff that when they come for Vision next year they are coming a couple of days early to do Family History.

Vision User Group MS4 Conference 2007 Project

2007 was our Space Theme for the Vision User Group MS4 Openings Ceremonies for our conference. I made the Rain Clouds that would delay the take-off of the space ship. Jim Soderberg and Jacob Martinez carried the rain clouds across the stage during the Opening Ceremonies . . .

My Blog now has all of the creations for the Vision Opening Ceremonies . . . Until next year . . .

Vision User Group MS4 Conference

The aprons were sewn by Elaine (mom) and Donna (me) for the Vision Opening Ceremonies. It has been a great conference with amazing inspirational speakers, wonderful friends, and warm memories.
Mom and I spent several days sewing away on two machines making the aprons for the Vision Opening Ceremonies. I would throw pins and Mom would throw scissors, when Mom picked up the scissors we laughed and laughed at all the pin attached to the scissors. We really needed Sylvia there taking pictures to document the process, instead we have stories of the Vision Sewing Project.
Nanette and I sewed the trim on the aprons during different conference calls the week before Vision. It is wonderful belonging to a company that is located throughout the country because we are able to complete many projects while listening, participating on telephone conference calls and net meeting.

Wedding Veil beaded with Swarovski Crystals

LaVell Hardy's Granddaughters Veil - Sewn with Swarovski Crystals

Swarovski Crystals sewn every two inches apart

One of the latest projects I have completed during the last month . . . sewing Swarovski Crystals on a wedding veil every two inches apart around the veil. When the veil moves, the light catches the crystal beads, and sends off flashes of light and rainbows . . .
More projects to follow . . .

Almost One Week in Bermuda

Elbow Beach - View from beach in front of Coco Reef Hotel . . .
Elbow Beach - south side of the island . . .
View from the patio of my room . . .
Palm Trees - One day without rain . . .
Saturday Morning - Raining during the morning and then the sun began to shine through the clouds
. . .

My favorite place on earth . . . BERMUDA . . . the bright color homes, buildings, and surroundings. It was a bit cold, several morning I wished I had my spring time gloves, but one thing remains constant it is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Bermuda Hospital Board requested education for their Human Resource Department for the HR application so I was sent to accomplish a week of training. I love the people of Bermuda! They are polite and everything smiles and says 'HELLO!'
I only took pictures from the patio of my hotel room and from walks on the beach so please enjoy . . . maybe someday you can experience and it will become your favorite place.

If I do return I will get some pictures of Hamilton with the stores and some of the homes in the many bright colors.

Jack Hanna at MS4 Vision User Conference 2008

Jack Hanna was impressed with our Elephant, Lion, and Giraffe asking if we were willing to donate them for his arts in the schools program. We were unable to talk Lorraine into making the donation. What a sad day that Janna's and my creations are kept in someones basement rather than educating children.

Janna Worwood creator of the elephant and myself creator of the lion and giraffe were given the opportunity to pose with Jack and the animals we created. What an exciting experience!

Janna jokes that Jack held me closer than he held her . . . while I return with that Jack gave her his personal email address and I did not get any email addresses.

Past Projects - Distant Past - 2005

Jim Soderberg - Tanielle Johnson - Alan Barton

I thought it might be of interest to show some of the projects I with other family and friends have accomplished through the years. It is always with fear and trepidation that I go into working on creating these items for fear that I have bitten off more than I can accomplish.
The first year I had the support, creativity, and hard works of my niece Tanielle to create two (2) parrots for my works user’s conference known as MS4 Vision Conference. Tanielle taught me a lot, giving me the courage to accept more opportunities/projects since that time which otherwise would be out of my comfort zone.
Jim
Soderberg and Alan Barton are over 6 feet tall and carried the parrots into the Auditorium for the opening ceremonies. As you can clearly tell that these are BIG BIRDS! And were they beautiful! Tanielle is standing with Jim, Alan, and the birds in one of the pictures. Thank you Tanielle for the many hours of work and for teaching me many creative ideas, the courage to say yes, and know that family will always be there to help you succeed. Create March and April 2005!

Aunt Donnie! What a wonderful sound . . .

Here I am in Texas with two of 50 something children (at least that is the number of children my co-workers at work know I have)
Samuel scratched me and I said OUCH! Samuel was surprise, then gave me a tight hug, then moved his lips to mine, and gave his kind of a kiss looking back with a gaze that wanted to know if I was better . . . how sweet!

Sydney has been helping me to clean, pick up, and can not forget many hugs. I have been calling her amazing, spectacular, and precious Sydney! She is full of surprises, stories, and keeps me on the run.
